The original and unfinished architectural body characterizing the manor house called "Il Batorcolo" or "Corte Mezzane" belonged to the great Pompei family, as attested by two stone coats of arms embedded in the northern facade: in fact, the Pompei family built Villa Pompei-Tonetti during the seventeenth century and owned it until the first decades of the nineteenth century. The complex certainly dates back to much more ancient times and, after all, its location at the intersection with a Roman settlement might imply an older dating.
The plan of the two-storey manor house, which is furnished with a barn, looks like the typical plan of Veneto houses: the rooms and the staircase branch off a large central hall. Some rooms (such as the hall on the ground floor and two adjoining rooms) contain wonderful seventeenth-eighteenth centuries frescoes representing landscape views and Chinese objects.
The large courtyard, occupied by a cotto-coated barnyard, ends into an arcade and a cluster of rural outbuildings on both sides of the manor house. Furthermore, there is a small oratory dedicated to Our Lady of Snow outside the wall.
