Villa Betteloni is a Villa Veneta dating back to the second half of the XIV century. It is located on the hills of Castelrotto, in the municipality of San Pietro in Cariano.
It is one of the oldest Veronese countryside residences, dated 1381, when the militia commander, Cortesia Serego, received it as a gift from Antonio della Scala. In 1401 it was requisitioned, together with all the properties of the Serego, by Giangaleazzo Visconti who in the meantime became the new lord of Verona.
In 1665 it passed into the ownership of the Betteloni family. It was inhabited, in fact, by the poets Cesare,Vittorio and Gianfranco Betteloni who sang it in their works. Over the course of three centuries, it was enlarged and decorated with friezes and frescoes.
It offers a beautiful Italian garden with hedges, avenues and tall trees which takes to a suggestive view of the Valpolicella.
The property is surrounded by its Brolo which also contains 30,000 square meters of Valpolicella DOCG Classico vineyards.
