A valuable historical relic of international renown is kept in Verona, in its most important square, a few steps away from the Arena Amphitheatre.
In the pronao of the town hall from 2021 it is possible to admire an important artefact linked to the Nobel Prize winner Guglielmo Marconi, the Universal Antenna Marconi (named Elettra1931 - Type 2469 - serial no. 3093), an artistic example of futurism and which in 2018 received the official recognition of Princess Elettra Marconi, daughter of the inventor.
The antenna, from which the first wireless signal in history originated in 1896, is owned by Francesco Chiantera, son of the founder of the Museo della Radio Alberto.
The famous futurist painter Enrico Prampolini dedicated a large oil on canvas to the Universal antenna in 1939.
