Since 1890 there are evidences of the presence of a tavern named Molinara. The origin of the name is linked to the “Molinara” grapes, an indigenous grape variety of the Veronese territory, used for the production of the wines of Valpolicella.
The tavern has always proposed dishes of local cuisine. The style is that of the the typical old-time trattoria in a simple and relaxed setting. The internal space is composed of two rooms with exposed beams and furniture of recent manufacture in traditional style. The walls are decorated with typical Veronese proverbs, a nice creation realised in 2003.
Outside, above the entrance, the old sign dating back to the 1930s is still well preserved. The long lasting activity as a tavern-trattoria and the preservation of the sign, which favours its urban recognition, has determined the high quality of this place.
Interesting facts: this trattoria has always been renown for the choice of simple homemade dishes from the traditional cuisine of the territory. It is said that, originally, the peculiarity of this place was the proposal of game dishes, since the owner was a hunting enthusiast.
