The Theatre, opened in 1837, took its current name in 1856 in honor of Adelaide Ristori, the greatest Italian actress of the nineteenth century, who obtained enthusiastic approval here.
It became a great city theater presenting, over the next century and a half, shows of all genres, from great prose to opera, from balls to marionettes, from the first cinema screening in Verona to vaudeville and variety shows.
Closed in 1983 because it did not comply with regulations, the Ristori Theater was purchased by the Cariverona Foundation in 2001 with the aim of returning it to the community.
The Ristori stage has historically hosted great performers.
In the beautiful foyer on the first floor, where the architectural peculiarities of the Ristori Theater stand out most, there is the Bistrot 18 22 (the year of birth of Adelaide Ristori) to spend the moments before the show in an elegant and hospitable atmosphere, tasting an aperitif accompanied by little appetizers.
