The Stal delle Vecie (Italianizing the term in "Lo Stallo delle Vecchie") is an ancient mansion located in Corso Porta Borsari.
Built in the 13th century as the residence of a rich merchant, it was transformed into a stall for a long time (from the medieval Latin "stallum" and from the Franconian "stall").
The building consists of 5 floors with a round arch access portal closed by a wrought iron gate. The peculiarities of the palace are placed in the sheet metal sign under the arch of two old women and in the bas-relief depicting the Madonna and Child, the Trinity and the Archangels Michael and Raphael, seen by the citizens for many years as "old ladies": hence the name of the palace.
The structure has been restored several times over the centuries, with the last restoration dating back to the second half of the last century.
