The Radio Museum Guglielmo Marconi in Verona is the only museum in the world which has been recognized by the family of the scientist because it owns the antenna which once was placed on the yacht Elettra: in 1896 from this antenna the first WiFi signal of the history was sent.
The Museum has been in existence since 1999 from the private collection of the vintage radios of its founder: Alberto Chiantera. Soon the Museum became the unique reference point for the history of radio in Italy.
In the last years the museum has changed: the son, Francesco Chiantera, current director and responsible, oriented the museum from just a radio museum to a symbol of communication.
The radios are still there, but the museum has been enriched with design radios from 70s and 80s, thus developing its cultural and artistic dimension and becoming more modern and aesthetically attractive for tourists and “beauty” lovers.
