The museum is housed in the Miniscalchi (15th century) and Miniscalchi-Erizzo palaces (16th century).
The building that gives access to the museum is a jewel of late Gothic architecture, unique in the veronese urban context.
The museum itinerary is divided into the four rooms of the atrium and fifteen rooms on the first floor, each one characterized by specific collections: small Renaissance bronzes, drawings by sixteenth-century masters, archaeological collections, Renaissance weapons and armor, sacred art, 18th-century furnishings Venetian, antique glass, ivory, majolica and porcelain.
The disposition of the precious finds follows current museological criteria but is made suggestive by the presence of paintings and antique furniture of the dwelling that belonged to the Miniscalchi family for five centuries.
The partial reconstitution of the Wunderkammer, the oldest in Europe, of the "speziale" Francesco Calzolari (mid-sixteenth century), the ancient library and the domestic chapel that complete and enrich the museum itinerary are precious elements of great relevance.
On the ground floor, three equipped rooms are reserved for temporary exhibitions. On the second floor there is a conference room for 90 people and four rooms reserved for the ancient archives.
