Since the start of the eighteenth century several activities have taken place, first of all a pharmacy, subsequently destroyed by the 1830 fire.
In 1831 it has become a gastronomy-delicatessen shop, that has lasted more than 150 years, becoming one of the most historical places of the city. Vintage photographs document the presence of valuable wooden furnishing, typical of pharmacies, in the room looking out onto Castelvecchio, that is still well preserved. Since the 2000s it has become the location for the elegant retro restaurant proposing dishes of the Veronese tradition, including the renowned boiled and roasted meat trolley and the typical local sauce pearà (made of bread, marrow, beef broth and pepper).
The cellars at the basement, in barrel masonry, date back to the late Christian and medieval eras. For almost two centuries they had been used as pantries and warehouses destined to the processing of meat and the storage of goods.
Interesting facts: in 1830 a fire destroyed the pharmacy where the restaurant is today located; only a few elements survived, including the beautiful votive
painting representing the Madonna with a child. It is said that a miracle cured by Our Lady stopped the fire that would have otherwise destroyed the entire building.
Opening year: 1831
