Realized during the 1783 by the architect Luigi Trezza, for the Count Antonio Rizzardi, the garden of Pojega is one of the best examples of Italian gardens. Laid out on three levels it has a surface area of 54.000 m2. In the garden, there is a temple with statues representing mythological characters, and on the second level, next to the citrus garden, there is the Stanza della Fontana - Fountain Room - a circular green area with a pool in the middle. Moving on through the garden, there is the evocative "green theatre" with seven rows of steps.
During the summer, theatrical productions are put on here. Pojega is a village with eighteenth-century wineries and rustic barn where you can buy all the products of the farm Guerrieri Rizzardi, the one that owns the villa and garden too.
Villa Rizzardi is a Venetian villa dating back to the end of the 19th century (probably between 1868 and 1870). It is located in the municipality of Negrar (in the Poiega area), in Valpolicella, in the province of Verona. The villa was built by the Rizzardi counts, owners of the territories since 1677 and still owners of it. The building stands on a hill enjoying an excellent panoramic view over the valley.
