Since the beginning, the Gorzegno family dealt with the sale of cameras and photographic materials, the development and printing of negatives, the creation of photo shoots and 16mm film shoot. Made by Gorzegno are pictures, on behalf of public bodies and private firms, which show the development of Verona and its province during the economic boom of the 1950s and 1960s: from the creation of motorways to the construction of big industrial plants, such as Fiat and the Veronese Mondadori.
The Gorzegnos are official photographers for Associated Press Photos, realizing photos for classical movies filmed in Verona and for the 1956 Mille Miglia, but also for reportages, such as that which recorded the Vajont dam disaster in 1963.
The shop conserves several high-quality tools dating back to the 1950s and 1960s, and collections of professional devices used by the Gorzegnos. Furthermore, there is an exquisite photographic record and a library of publications specializing in photography. At the end of the studio there is the laboratory, where a historical glazing machine stands out; this machine is used for silver bromide photos. Inside the darkroom, still operational, there are various magnifiers dating back to the 1950s and 1970s.
Interesting facts: in the back of the shop it is possible to see a precious collection of Leica and Hasselblad cameras, of which the Gorzegno brothers have been the first official retailer in Italy.
Opening year: 1953
