A dive into the past to understand history.
Uniforms, military equipment, original objects, dioramas, newspapers of the period and historical reconstructions will catapult the guest in the period of the Second World War, following the events that took place between 1939 and 1945 from a historical-didactic, experiential and interactive point of view. A place of excellence to deepen the study of the history of the twentieth century.
The members of the museum, passionate connoisseurs of the historical subjects of this period, welcome visitors in period clothes, uniforms of the various nations involved in the conflict or civil clothes of the 1940s, accompanying guests into the halls of the museum, and offering an even more exciting immersive experience.
Attractive and full of meaning during the visit, are the two simulations. The first allows you to physically enter the reconstruction of the cockpit of an American B17 bomber in flight, in full action. The second represents an anti-aircraft shelter under attack; deliberately proposed in this order as a basis for reflection, exchange and comparison.
The museum, inaugurated in 2018, is located in the Forte Lugagnano (Werk Kronprinz Rudolf, 1860), named after Archduke Rudolf of Absburg and designed by Captain Daniel Salis-Soglio. The fort, together with those of Dossobuono, Azzano and Tomba, was among the most equipped both as firepower and as logistics services, reaching to accommodate about 450 people inside. Used by the Italian army as a storage and warehouse, today the fort houses the Museum of the Second World War, curated by the Association Vivere la Storia.
Free entrance.
