In the hamlet of Mazzano, near the parish church, there is the particular monument called Arpa Eolica di Mazzano; a structure capable of producing suggestive sounds in the presence of the wind. The sculpture, created by the architect Giuseppe Ferlenga, is 6 meters and 60 centimeters high and was inaugurated in November 2015.
The general aesthetic shape takes up the slender line of the cypress, a tree that has always been a symbol of eternal life, but it is by observing the shape of the base, made of Prun stone, and listening to the sounds of the wind harp, that the monument fully expresses its conceptualism. The shape of the base recalls the tops of the mountains, beautiful places but often also the scene of bloody battles where many people lost their lives, and at the same time represents the Negrarese hills.
The sounds of the wind harp, which arrive generated by the wind and which rise towards the sky, aim to induce a spiritual and poetic reflection aimed at those who are no longer with us. From a technical point of view, the Mazzano monument is a large six-string musical instrument, attached to a harmonic case set in a frame made of tubular steel.
