Starting from 2024, in collaboration between the Municipality of Verona and the Verona City Fortress Association, the Fort San Procolo of Verona will be open to the public, aimed at highlighting the architectural and cultural heritage of this important historic and secular site.
Designed by the illustrious engineer Franz Von Scholl, Fort San Procolo was built between 1840 and 1841 as a defensive bulwark for the northern gate of the city. It was among the first and most complex structures built during the various fortification campaigns of the Habsburg era in Verona and, after thirty years of abandonment, is the protagonist of a valorization project that will bring it back to the city.
Visits to the Fort take place every third Saturday of the month and last approximately 2 hours each.
Pedestrian entrance is from Via Francesco da Levanto 32/34.
