In the 102nd edition of the Verona Arena Opera Festival, Aida returns to the stage, in the "crystal" production of 2023 created and curated for direction, sets, and costumes by the multifaceted artist Stefano Poda.
Giuseppe Verdi's masterpiece about the Ethiopian princess enslaved in Egypt, with transparencies, unprecedented light plays, and rich symbolism suspended between Ancient Egypt and contemporary art, will be staged for 13 performances, from June 20 to September 4, 2025. A multifaceted and modern production, able to speak to everyone, balancing between classical Egyptian iconography and the stylistic innovations of Paco Rabanne, Roberto Capucci, and Damien Hirst.
Composed in 1869 on the occasion of the inauguration of the Suez Canal, Aida by Giuseppe Verdi tells the love story of young Aida, daughter of the King of Ethiopia but made a slave following Amneris, daughter of the Pharaoh of Egypt. In love (and loved in return) with the valiant Radamès, betrothed to Amneris, Aida will follow him to his tragic death, demonstrating her love and loyalty.

SHOW INFORMATION:
To ensure proper entry and avoid delays in the evening's proceedings, the audience guest is required to arrive at the Arena at least one hour before the show start time.
The gates open two hours before the show begins.
There is no mandatory dress code. Elegant attire is preferred in the stalls, and for men shorts, tank tops, and flip-flops are not permitted.
It is possible to enter with a small backpack and a foldable or small-sized umbrella (long ones without sharp tips). Introducing suitcases, trolleys, bags, backpacks, sacks, or other bulky containers (over 17 liters) is prohibited. In the stands, it is allowed to bring a cushion from home or purchase one in the Arena from the staff on duty.
Food and drinks cannot be brought into the Arena. Additionally, bottles larger than 0.5 liters are prohibited, as well as any other glass or plastic bottles, containers, or sharp objects that may cause harm to oneself or others.
If weather conditions do not allow for the regular performance of the show, Fondazione Arena di Verona can delay the start time of the performance by up to 150 minutes. In case of a definitive suspension of the performance after it has started, any right to a ticket refund will be forfeited. Please refer to the regulations for further information.
